When a sanitary butterfly valves is installed, it is recommended to use welded flange, rather than flat welding flange. The reason is that when the steel pipe is put into the flat welding flange, the valve plate becomes quite easy to be touched, which affects the free opening of the valve plate. Therefore, the correct sanitary butterfly valve installation points are as follows:
- Bring the two flanges to their maximum distance so that the entire valve body can be inserted (the valve plate opens at a small angle). The preferred method is to first catch a bolt at the bottom and then rotate the entire butterfly valve upward between the two flanges.
- Fit all the bolts but do not tighten when the valve plate is at a small angle opened position (not fully closed).
- Fully open the butterfly valve to its maximum, and make sure whether the butterfly valve and the pipe are aligned or not. Check if they are free to be operated, and tighten the bolts diagonally one by one.
